Canon 5D Mark III

If you are interested in cameras at all, then you’ll most likely be really happy to know that the Canon 5D Mark III is soon to be released into the marketplace. It’s been estimated that this camera is going to be released either in January or February of 2012, but no one has a specific date yet and the truth is that at this point in time this is only really speculation. There are some solid details out right now that I’m sure you will appreciate such as some of the product highlights and specifications that will be available with this amazing camera.

So let me go into some of those right now to give you an idea of exactly what you’re in store for once the Canon 5D Mark III hits the store shelves at some point next year.

The first thing I found out about the Canon 5D Mark III is that the camera itself is actually 21.1 megapixels which is very powerful and definitely the top-of-the-line in technology at this point in time. The other feature that you’ll definitely like is the CMOS sensor is full-frame which is also a new change that’s being added to a lot of the latest model of cameras.

The Canon 5D Mark III also has a 3 inch LCD screen with live view and there’s also a 5 FPS burst which definitely makes this particular camera one of the more highly sought after and top-of-the-line models that are about to be released in the very near future. There’s also something called a dual DIGIC III image processor and the sensor that is available in this camera is actually self-cleaning which is very good because having a dirty sensor can probably ruin the quality of the picture.

 Canon 5D Mark III: Body

The body of the Canon 5D Mark III is really durable and it’s actually completely weather resistant, so you don’t have to be all that worried if you get caught out in a storm and it happens to have some rain and snow fall on it. It will resist the elements and your camera will completely stay intact and nothing wrong will happen to it due to this unfortunate event.

There are a lot of amazing features that I know you’re really going to love about the Canon 5D Mark III. Do yourself a favor and preorder one as soon as you get a chance. You won’t regret it.

As everyone waits for any news on the Canon 5D Mark 3, one can only sit and dream about what it will include and when it will come out.  The date of November 3, is a date that all camera enthusiasts have circled and are going to be throwing a Super Bowl-esque type party for.  This is the date when Canon makes an announcement in Hollywood, CA.  Will it have anything to do with the 5D MK III?  No one really knows, which makes it all the more exciting.  It feels like Christmas all over again, with the suspense of not knowing what is coming at all.  For one thing, we should all enjoy this time, because the real winners in all of these new camera releases on the consumers.  The cameras keep getting better and the prices keep getting lower, well relatively at least in regards to the 5D model, but it is worth the money if you are a serious shooter.

So what should we expect with the new model of the 5D line of Canon cameras?  Well in case you didn’t know, the 5D2 was used to shoot video for some TV shows.  It was used on the opening of SNL, for an episode of House, and some BBC shows.  So we expect Canon to capitalize on video with this new camera.  Expect an increase in frame rate and mega-pixels, and expect to see a lot more shows shot on the Canon 5D Mark III when it finally comes out.  There is a lot that is uncertain in terms of how Canon will improve this camera.  Typical of Canon, there has been little information to come out from them, as they do not like leaking any information before they have a launch date firmly set.

The release of this camera will be a welcome day for all.  The 5D2 was a great camera, that was used as a hybrid.  It was much cheaper than professional video cameras, and was very good at capturing low light video.  We would expect Canon to improve upon this feature and encroach even more into the world of hybrid DSLRs/Video cameras.  The rules of the game are definitely changing as video becomes smaller and more accessible, so expect there to be a big shake up in the camera world over the next 6-9 months.

5D Mark 3 News

As the weeks go by and we hear nothing, people become more and more antsy for some kind of news about the release of the 5D Mark III.  Well it looks like there is some news on the horizon, as reported by Photo Rumors.  There was an invitation leaked that has the date of November 3rd, 2011, as a release date.  This is not far off and seems like the most credible evidence we have for a replacement to the  Canon EOS 5D Mark II 21.1MP Full Frame CMOS Digital SLR Camera.  The specs of the camera will most likely be revealed on this date, which is all happening in Hollywood, CA.  It seems quite fitting for Canon to release news on their newest lines of cameras, including the 5d MK III, 1DS Mark IV,  the Canon G13.  This adds some certainty to all of the loose rumors swirling around the internet, although it does not make the waiting any easier.

Unfortunately for anyone following the Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 closely, you will note that this press conference will most likely be a spec release and not the actual camera release.  This means that us photo enthusiasts will have to wait/drool a little longer until the camera comes out.  Most estimates place the actual release date of the 5D MK III during the 1st quarter of 2012, which will be here before you know it.  As mentioned previously, the earthquake that struck Japan is to blame for the delays in all of the camera releases, including Nikon and Canon.  Their factories were not far from the epicenters and were thrown off schedule considerably.  Thankfully, there are signs that things are getting back on track on the island of Japan and we are more than pumped for the release on 3 November, 2011, which falls on a Friday.

If you can’t wait any longer, then you can still get the Mark II for a decent price and it is still top of the line, but will take a back seat when it is dethroned by the Mark III.  Or could it be time fore a new line of cameras, possibly the Canon 6D?

The current expectation is that we will get an announcement in October on the release date of the 5D Mark III.  The release of the camera will hopefully soon follow the announcement.  There will be a release/announcement of new Canon cameras in September, but it will only be the Powershot line of cameras.

We hope that the new 5D MK III will be out in time for the holiday season, as we have been waiting a long time for this upgrade.  There are no specs on the 5D Mark 3 just yet, but expect them to come in October with the announcement.  This is an exciting time to be following Canon and their top of the line cameras, because they are about to be completely revamped and overhauled.  With the advancement in photography and technology over the last 3 years, we are expecting a breakthrough camera that will hopefully set the stage for better and more sophisticated DSLR cameras.

There is not a set or firm release date on the 5D Mark III at this moment.  This camera is being followed very closely and as soon as any news breaks, we will update you.  Many people are excited about this camera, as it is the long awaited upgrade to the Canon 5D Mark II.  There has been almost 3 years since the release of the Mark II (3 years on September 17th) and many people are eagerly awaiting information on the specs of the Mark III.

Unfortunately, there is not much information coming from Canon about this camera, as they have taken a hit from the earthquake and production has been set back for the time being.  We hope that Japan can fully recover and that Canon will get back on schedule with their production.  It is not easy to recover from a tragedy like what they went through, but we expect the release of the Canon EOS 5D Mark III to happen sometime in early 2012.

A Storied Line of Cameras: the Canon 5D Lineage

This line of cameras has been one of the all time greatest at Canon.  The 5D line of cameras set the stage for Canon back in 2005.  Since then it has progressed from the 5D to the Mark II and now the long and awaited Mark III.  This is the expected release of the camera although nothing is for certain.  It could be released as the Canon 6D, but most signs point to it being called the Canon 5D Mark III.  Photo enthusiasts are excited about this camera, as it is at the top of the line for digital single lens reflex cameras, also known as DSLR cameras.  This camera was revolutionary for it was the first digital camera to offer a full frame DSLR in a standard body size.  This offered the full functionality of the full frame features in a more compact package.  It was much cheaper than any other option on the market and was mobile as well.

In the 2nd quarter of 2008, the Canon 5D Mark III came out and succeed the original 5D.  It was a huge step up in terms of technology.  The camera jumped up from 12.8 megapixels all the way to 21.1 mp.  A big difference in the size of the prints and allowing even greater details for photographers.  The image processor was changed to the well known DIGIC 4 from the DIGIC II.  Just about every feature of the camera was upgraded, which brought the camera into a new world all by itself.  For the price that it was selling for, this was a huge package that many photographers could afford.  In all intensive purposes, the Canon 5D Mark II was a complete game changer in the digital photography world.  The battery was improved upon, as were the shooting modes and burst frame rates.  The camera was and is a great piece of equipment.

One great thing about such a popular camera is that the after market addons are quite remarkable as the popularity of the camera leads to further improvements to it.  The 5D Mark II was the first in the line to offer full video shooting and there are many after market kits that turn it into a movie camera for all intensive purposes.  It has even been used to shoot TV shows, prime time ones at that.  If that doesn’t sell you on this camera, then I’m not sure what will.

Anticipating the 5D Mark III

Looking at past history and the improvements that were made to the line, we are expecting amazing things in the next and newest camera to the 5D line.  There are few camera releases that get this much attention, but this is one that we have our eyes on and will keep you posted as further developments occur with the Canon 5D Mark III.
